Redeemed and Rewritten - Part XV

Scripture:
"Therefore I glory in Christ Jesus in my service to God. I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles to obey God by what I have said and done…" (Romans 15:17-18)

Observation:
This past Sunday, Pastor Julius brought a message that spoke to the season I am walking right now! What a powerful Word! He reminded us that God gives us peace as we learn to trust Him—even when we don’t understand what He’s doing, even when things are changing, and even when He is asking us to let go of the things we were sure would be part of our future.
What a reminder that sometimes, God has to cut things out of our lives, not to punish us, but to prepare us for what He wants to do next. Hearing that on Sunday brought me so much comfort, and writing it comforts me, even now.

Application:
This season has required me to release so much: my home, my relationship, my expectations, my old patterns, and even some parts of myself that I’ve held onto for too long. I have found myself asking time and time again, “Can I trust God enough to let go of what He’s asking me to release, even when I don’t know what He’s bringing next?”
Some things I chose to let go of myself. Some things God made very clear I had to let go of. Some things
He removed, without permission or consent. I have been relentless in leaning in, so I can hear His voice over all the other noise. Week after week, I have been going to the altar, asking God to cut off anything that no longer serves Him or me.
He has been teaching me that, if He removes something from my life, I don’t have to keep reaching back for it.
I can forgive a person without giving them access to me again.
I can love someone and still let them go.
I can grieve what I lost and still believe God has something beautiful ahead of me.
Because maybe what God is cutting away isn’t just people or circumstances. Maybe He’s cutting away the parts of me that once needed control, validation, closure, or certainty.
I’m learning to change the questions in my heart from, “Lord, why did this happen?” to “What are You doing in me, through this?”
I don’t know exactly what this next season will look like, but I know that God has been faithful before and that I can trust Him again and again and again.
I don’t need to know what’s ahead when I intimately know the One leading the way; no matter where He takes me, I know He is already there.
So, I’m letting go.
I’m trusting Him.
And, I’m choosing to walk forward in peace.

Prayer:
Father God, You are the God of endurance, encouragement, and hope. Please give me the strength to release what You are asking me to. Give me peace when I don’t have answers and faith when I can’t see what is ahead. Help me to walk forward in forgiveness, and not backwards to the places You have called me out of. Cut away anything that is keeping me from becoming who You've called me to be. I release my need for control, validation, closure, and understanding. Help me trust You more than my feelings and, just as Romans 15:13 says, fill me with joy and peace in the process, so that I can overflow with hope through the power of Your Holy Spirit.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
