A Response to Faith

Scripture

“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him” Hebrews 11:6

Observation

This verse tells us two powerful truths essential in our faith relationship with God: Faith is necessary to please God, and God responds to those who genuinely seek Him.
Faith isn’t just believing in God’s existence, it is also trusting in His character, His promises, and His willingness to reward and respond to those who pursue Him with sincerity. Hebrews celebrates the unwavering trust of those who followed God even when they couldn’t see the outcome in the face of adversity.

Application

In our busy and uncertain lives, it’s easy to rely on what we can control or see. But this verse calls us to shift our focus from what’s temporary to what's eternal.
Ask yourself: Am I living like I truly believe God exists and is active in my life? Am I seeking Him with my whole heart-in prayer, Scripture, and in obedience?
Faith is not a one time decision; it is a daily practice. God is not asking for perfection, but He is calling for pursuit. Let this verse remind us to realign our hearts with Him; trusting that He sees, hears, and rewards those who continually seek Him- even in our quiet hidden spaces.

Prayer

Father God,
Thank You for reminding me that faith is what draws me closer to You. Help me to believe not just in Your existence, but in Your nearness, Your goodness, and Your faithfulness to those who seek You. Teach me to walk by faith and not by sight, especially when life feels uncertain. Strengthen my trust in You, and let my life reflect a heart that is earnestly chasing after You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen
